To win in 2020, Democrats need three groups of swing voters: 🔹Obama voters who flipped to Trump 🔹Obama voters who didn’t vote in 2016 🔹Americans who usually don’t vote Here’s why Bernie Sanders is the strongest candidate among all three groups:

Saying that elections are all “hacked” or completely manipulated is a great way to convince working people not to come out and vote or bother with supporting an insurgent candidate.

. tells supporters in a fundraising email that their unverified internal reports still show Sanders up, Buttigieg in second. He decries the system and lack of results, but appeals for money for NH. "We feel very good about where we are right now, and you should too."

  4. when the Iowa voting totals are released and Bernie has the most votes, he will win Iowa when the New Hampshire voting totals are released and Bernie has the most votes, he will win New Hampshire when the Nevada voting totals are released and Bernie has the most votes, he will

This is my first essay in almost two years. It's something I feel very passionate about and have been considering for a very long time.

The Iowa Caucus was a clusterfuck. Yes, the UN should be called. Jimmy Carter should have to certify this election.

  7. correction: first-time caucus turnout may be down a bit from 2016, though we don't really know yet. the youth numbers do seem significantly higher, though

  8. 1. We don't know anything concrete about total turnout, just casual projections from preliminary results 2. All indications are that youth turnout & first-time caucus turnout were UP 3. Should we call a total turnout number higher than either party in 2016 "rather low"?

The selling point for is not that he can get along with an elite group of Republicans but that he is articulating the dissatisfaction of millions of ppl at precisely the structural inequality that he rails rightly against.

  11. Two key points from : 1. Entrance polls suggest Biden crumbled in Iowa. Does this hurt his already-weak fundraising? 2. The longer Pete & Amy stay in the race, the weaker Biden looks, & the longer it will take for the establishment to consolidate against Bernie

Poll of Muslim-American voters, put out by , finds: Bernie with the lead, at 39 percent, followed by Biden (27) Bloomberg (9) Warren (9) and Buttigieg, Yang and Steyer at 1

A lot possible, but (based on polling history) Amy & Pete did not have much of a shot at nomination & needed a huge bounce out of Iowa (now seems unlikely). Biden is not dead, but will bear brunt of negative media. Warren may have overperformed, but Bernie most likely to benefit

  15. It's too bad Bernie doesn't get a clear "win" tonight. But the story here may be even better for him: Biden demands a recount, Pete claims victory at 0% reporting, chaos everywhere. The institutional Dem Party is a mess. Only someone from the outside can get the job done in 2020

I saw in-person Biden miss viability at two caucus locations, and there are many credible reports of him either missing or barely making viability. There is no doubt tonight was a disaster for Biden. Throwing doubt on the result pulls from Trump's playbook and needs to stop

Lol, so Joe Biden sent a letter to the Iowa Dem party saying that the result reporting was a catastrophic failure. So here's what interesting, he's saying he doesn't think results should be reported AT ALL until the campaigns can audit the counts themselves - delaying for days

At our precinct in Des Moines, due to immigrant turnout, chairs ran out for Bernie. Biden, 2nd, wasn’t viable. He needed 15 votes and had max 10. Bernie had 138 in round 1.
