Quite perceptive. We have always been influenced by physics -- more so recently. It has taken a long time for components to mature sufficiently to realize intentions, often in unexpected ways. Hubris is a pernicious inheritance but may be a prerequisite for essential risk.

Sometimes I wonder: will we end up putting enough processing power in all our stuff that we’ll be able to talk to everything directly, or will we each just have a single voice assistant that does everything for us and interfaces with any other objects we want to control?

That kid is now eight - would be interesting to know if she reads real books and magazines. My guess is she does.
