7/ the bar Old Hem was located on the historical tiny street of mixed-use blocks, leading to one of the largest urban public space in Ukraine, the Freedom Square in Kharkiv. A famous contemporary writer Serhiy Zhadan (this year’s Nobel prize nominee) used to hang out there 💔

8/ The Ivankiv History Museum in Kyiv Oblast was estbalished in 1980 & included several exhibitions on Chernobyl, WW2, and some valuable artifacts of Ukr. cultural heritage (Kievan Rus' items, Cossack weapons, costumes). Folk art paintings by Maria Prymachenko were also burned 🥺

9/ Kharkiv State Afanasyev's Academic Puppet Theater is located right at the Constitution Square. It was founded in 1939, survived WW2. Known for its revival folklore form of Ukr. vertep (portable drama) with repertoire of Bulgakov's "The Master & Margarita", Gogol's "Inspector"

10/ Kharkiv Palace of Children and Youth is the cultural center. Built in 1820, was destroyed WW2, but later reconstructed with classicism style. The Noble laureate Ilya Mechnikov used to work there. In 2017 we did European Youth Parliament conference right there 💔
