i like the piece, but as someone who organized social good hackathon , I slightly don’t agree with your point - it’s not about solving societal problems in 2 days, rather giving space for those who needs technical resources and bringing affordances for collaboration.
that's definitely a fair point, I think phrasing and presentation matters a lot here -- by presenting a hackathon more as a place for exploring potential solutions rather than just a be-all-end-all to the problem, i think that makes a lot more sense
