Hi, don't know you and don't know which club this is, but just wanted to say that you don't need the club!! You can even start your own club if you want, nothing's stopping you!

ahh thank you 🥺 yeah, that's true but i just wanted to learn more about AI research from their community bc they seem to be pretty knowledgable in it, and I am someone who is pretty new to the field you know

I feel you! It can feel really dissonant when spaces that claim to lower the barrier for entry… still have a barrier for entry 😕 Advice: Don't let the "marketing message" get to you. If you can get rejected, then it's effectively exclusive, and it is ok if you don't get in!!

btw, I had the same experience with rejections. It happened to not bother me but only bc I wasn't as self-aware back then 🤔 I ended up starting some clubs (with increasing degrees of success, thankfully) -- in retrospect I'm glad I got rejected. Happy to talk if you want!
