    Really important thread. I see people minimizing what happened with Maus by saying “but they’re willing to teach the Holocaust, they just object to the language and imagery.” If you insist on teaching a gentle Holocaust you are refusing to teach the Holocaust.

    There's a phenomenon I actually see extremely commonly when literature is used to teach history to middle school and high school students. Let's call it "pajamafication."
