Another subcase for point 1: I have been told by people I trust that certain authors' distinctive styles and subareas of ML research make it impossible to actually conceal their identity from reviewers even when their name is withheld. (A form of PII leakage, I suppose.)

I believe you have posted this because of some prior knowledge but I want your opinion on what happened to Yan LeCun and Andrew Ng and how they were attacked, not because of their political opinion (they are liberals), but because of their gender (and race for Yann).
