thanks. That’s a fair point, I think we just have differing predictions there. IMO neither side has the power (or will anytime soon) to unilaterally force its preferred laws though, despite what the polls say. Just my 2¢ though.

thanks, will think about it. I was trying to use equal-weight terms that each side throws at each other. My calibration may be off on that (I often hear “gun nut” used affectionately/jokingly with gun-rights groups).

1) I think that your assessment of the gun control battleground is accurate. Your proposed solution, however, suffers from the same deficiency that you ID as the driver of that battle. It is far too narrowly focused - on guns. That frame gets bifurcated into the two camps...
