Recently, @jd_wilko talked about reviewing a paper, raising deep concerns about stats, and yet seeing it published. I think @ADAlthousePhD has said this too. I see now how this happens: many people don't believe statistics captures all the evidence in numerical data.

This isn't my view, but I have to respect it. This might be why statisticians aren't getting the last word on the validity of a statistical analysis even when the analysis isn't done using the best statistical approach. I have thoughts, but curious to hear yours first.pic.twitter.com/xCCKmrFpBy
