When a statisticians hear, "Successful people start their day at 4 a.m.", they think: 1. Waking early makes you successful? 2. Something about success makes it hard to sleep at night? 3. Success is lethal; Only early risers survive? 4. You did your survey at 4am. #epitwitter

People who are conscientious are more successful. People who wake up at 4 am are very likely high in trait conscientiousness. Ergo people who wake up at 4 am tend to be successful.

Conscientious people could be substantially more likely to participate in scientific studies/fill out surveys causing over-representation in the survey population. 😅

I get up at 4. Pretty sure I might be considered “successful.” Positive that I don’t like getting up at 4.

        "Success" sounds like a Per2 gene mutation. I'd much rather be #MsMarvel #mutants @TillRoenhttps://www.sciencemag.org/news/2009/08/early-risers-are-mutants …

Chronotype is a dumb thing to correlate success with. It's just a thing you're born with, like handedness. Sleep a full night, regularly, when you feel tired to be optimal. Signed: neuroscientist who wakes up at 5:30 every morning without an alarm.

What impressed me the most is that most of them use to had creative work just after breakfast. At that time many of us are usually trapped in the traffic having great thoughts and not too much chance of writing all of them down.
