I think the people who need to be sold are those with a vested interest in not buying into it. I say this as a RIS s/w professional of 20 years. 'ologists will do anything to prevent generic replacement for their reports/studies. Just a wee thing I've noticed along the way.

This could be good if (big if) early ID leads to care/support that max quality life years for all, esp. folks w/ historic health inequities (women, PoC, poor rural whites), and protects folks from workplace consequences and social stigma. Must get non-tech stuff right & aligned

It is worth mentioning that the method as is reported would falsely classify almost fifth of the population as developing Alzheimer's.

At least if you want to detect everyone. Can't find the specificity numbers for 92% sensitivity.

AI : great for Automated, routine procedures/problems, but may not address a) innovation(leading to obscolescence of algorithm(s)),b) outliers, or c) restricted competence of the development team who may devise an inappropriate Domain Model and manifestations of Type I/Ii errors.

It’s definitely important. Looking forward seeing how it will perform “out in the wild” (incl. unsymptomatic samples), at scale & not unimportantly pushing the timeline for positive identification.

Bogus AI for marketing purposes (increasingly IBM Watson, for example) vs. real is becoming murkier. Some of it (i.e. quality “machine/neural translation” of languages) will likely never be able to replace human analysis and input. Make sense?

In the healthcare field, few want to imagine a future where doctors' jobs are less safe than nurses'. AI replacing white collar workers, too, will be a shocker.
