Yes, those people are creeps and they're wrong and they suck. Anyone using them to push an agenda equally sucks. I agree whole heartedly. I just would be interested in an ACTUAL legitimate analysis of what drives their behavior.

Because let's face it, pretty much every guy not named Brad Pitt has had moments of saying "I hate all women" the thing is that most of us grow out of our angst-y teenage years. These people don't and just get angrier with every passing day.

Which makes it even harder for them to get laid, which makes them even angrier. I don't care about them getting laid at all, but I do care about what it is that drives the behavior in the first place. Because I think there are more of them than we would like to think.

Note: I'm not just talking about murderous "incels" - I think there are levels of misogyny ranging from "hang Hillary because she reminds me of my ex wife" to "I'm a 27 year old virgin so I'm going to kill you all".

I don’t feel every time a group of cretins links up on the internet to peddle a cretinous agenda we’re obligated or even well served to do a deep dive on their motivations or “what this really means in some bigger context”.

But there IS a noxious sub-culture of men, who even if they aren't full on "incels" still kinda sorta maybe sympathize with people who hate women, because they too have been rejected sexually or whatever. And I think it's bigger than we want to think it is.

I'm talking about frat bro types (far from "incels") sexually assaulting drunk women and justifying it because of some ex girlfriend that cheated on them or some girl in high school that rejected them or whatever.

Not the only example (or even the best one) but I do think that kind of behavior is the cousin of the "incel" murder spree. And that's wayyyyy more prevalent.
