    MNIST reborn, restored and expanded. Now with an extra 50,000 training samples. If you used the original MNIST test set more than a few times, chances are your models overfit the test set. Time to test them on those extra samples.

    Coming in from the physical sciences, I recall reading the knowledge distillation paper for the first time and thinking that the naming was so apt that it helped crystallize the concept immediately; but the reference to softmax temperature is just too good to be true! 😂

    Scikit-learn 0.21 is out! Including the new HistGradientBoostingClassifier/Regressor by that implements lightgbm and should match or improve over xgboost performance. Full changelog here: Also, there's now an option for a nicer __repr__!
