    A year and a half ago, a family member of mine went through a difficult pregnancy and their baby was born around 20 weeks. She lived only 25 days, never left the hospital. For the president to characterize what happened in the way he does is disgusting and lacks all compassion.

    Thread: As a NICU nurse, I served on the “Bereavement Team.” We were a special team of Nurses tough enough to help new parents go through the worst day of their lives. Parents of babies who had fought so hard for their tiny little lives and weren’t going to make it... 1/

    Thread. Hard to read but you should.

    So yes, there are those in hospitals who are around infants who pass: they are the Bereavement Teams & they provide the equivalent of neonatal hospice to families who are living through absolute Hell. Babies and children die, it’s a sad part of life. But no one, absolutely /7

    It's , so here's a reminder that : The "nice guy" I was dating poked holes in all my condoms and got me pregnant. I was too ashamed to tell anyone I was pregnant, so I self-managed my abortion at home, alone. I've never regretted it once.

    twice. Abortion is a right. It is an economic issue. It is my story and the story of many others. It is ours to share it not. I no longer bear the burden of silence, and stand up to stereotypes and anti-choice distortions of who we are and why we choose.

    My heart is with everyone in mourning after the deadly shooting at the synagogue in Poway. We all should be able to practice our faith without fear of being shot. Gun violence is a public health issue and our nation must stop the spread of anti-Semitism.

    After being shot, the rabbi continued with his sermon, telling the congregation to stay strong.

    This exchange is someone's ad right now. This was a perfect opportunity to say, "You're right. If I could go back I would not have have chosen political expediency. I would have chosen that brave young woman, Dr. Hill. I am so sorry I did not." This was a failure of leadership.

    If these candidates don’t release their plans to restore and expand abortion access soon, to speak negatively about them and hold them accountable. This is the future of our nation, they can and will get dragged. They can also reach out to us for help.

    And yes I mean everybody is entitled to end their pregnancy. No waiting periods, no judge’s permission, no parent sign-off, no absolutely ghoulish transvaginal ultrasound so you can see the zygote before you evict it. And get the fuck out with your exceptions for rape/incest.

    You’ll notice I say “people” here instead of women. Even though I myownself are, in fact, a wimmern-type. Not all women have wombs. Not all people who have wombs are women. Defining myself and others as women based on the utility of our plumbing ain’t right and ain’t feminist.

    Oop! TRUE. (Keyword “some” of y’all, of course.)

    But with this new discourse of women discussing when and why they chose abortion, I’ve seen some cisbabes make salty comments about their own infertility. Some of y’all spent good money on IVF and felt like you bought the right to be mad at somebody else’s abortion.

    Lawmakers, if you care about Black babies and kids, try: 1. Expanding Medicaid, doofuses. 2. Implementing comprehensive gun control legislation. 3. Stopping the shameful school-prison pipeline. 4. Taking some sort of action to maybe stop mothers from fucking DYING in Georgia.

    I’ve been in the situation where I had to call a state Senator at home to ask his permission for an abortion to save a patient’s life. Not all doctors will have hospital lawyers who care enough to facilitate that and who will look out for them
