2019 is the year we stop writing “pure” functional or object-oriented code, and go back to getting shit done.
Coding purity ideologies are as dangerous as religious fundamentalism
they don’t who they hurt as long as they can feel self righteous as the bearer of “standards”... obsession with purity should not be confuse with “writing good code”

Yes! Coherence/elegance are good but ideology happens, goes too far and is born out of a desire to belong - 'me vs the others'. Reminds me of Paul Graham's words http://www.paulgraham.com/identity.html - only trouble is, with advanced tech & incomplete data, it may be hard to draw the line.
