Final speaker is on U=U and ‘Undetectabilities”. Kane says U=U has “desexualised” HIV prevention and reframed success as being a matter of engagement in care. The work of prevention becomes contingent on clinical goals #HIVAIDS2022 #SH2022

Fantastic talk. U=U is an epidemiologically effective intervention but morally flawed. HIV transmission can't and should not be construed to be a responsibility of non-suppressed PLWH

And now a discussion of the “paradoxes of undetectable identity.”
One brilliant line: “You become ‘undetectable’ by being detected as such.”
And: “Undetectability is not a thing, but a performative ensemble of repeated relations.”

If I contracted MPX today I’d need to isolate for 2-4 weeks but I’m a casual worker living week to week. We NEED an MPX iso payment so people don’t need to choose between food and rent and their health

Getting an infectious disease is never your fault. Humans cannot live risk-free lives and viruses and their statistics confound logic.
We do the best we can for ourselves and each other.
We care for ourselves and each other when we fall sick.
Simple.
