I feature local/regional reporters on my show as much as possible. Their work is vital. Very glad to be able now to offer something more tangible: An annual $25,000 prize for coverage of state government.

The first Jew arrived in America in 1621. For 397 years we NEVER had a shooting in an American synagogue. In the last 6 months we’ve had two. This is what we mean when we rail against record anti-Semitism.

It is a sign of the times that I found about today's synagogue—not to be confused with October's synagogue shooting—not from the news, but from two friends: a black friend and a Muslim friend. To quote one of them, "The hate is the same." We are all in this together.

I condemn the abhorrent attack on a synagogue in California; this is an attack on the heart of the Jewish people. We send condolences to the family of Lori Gilbert-Kaye and our best wishes for a quick recovery to the wounded.

What a terrible tragedy, and on the final day of Passover. It is critical that we work to combat hatred and anti-Semitism, but we must also pass meaningful gun legislation now. These shootings must end.

I'm so sad to be writing about another attack on a Synagogue today on the Shabbat and on the last day of Passover. I'm so sorry for the loss and we are with you San Diego. I'm sad and angry, but also proud of the strength of our community. You can't break us. 🇮🇱

Do not think of the murderers in Charleston, Pittsburgh, Christchurch, San Diego () as lone wolves. They are inspired by the same white supremacist antisemitic websites. There are no fine people here and there were none in Charlottesville

There are things about Chabad politically and theologically many of us, myself included, find deeply problematic. The fact nonetheless remains that they been repeatedly singled out for violent attacks and every Chabadnik and Lubavitcher you know could use a little love right now.

I said this long ago: antisemitism is like a herpes virus. It lies dormant and when given the right opportunity it emerges and does its terrible damage.

I am heartbroken to see the news coming out of California today. Anti-Semitism is real, it is rising, and it has no place in our world. May the congregation find strength in their faith and may we all find the strength to confront this evil head on.

Anti-Semitism is a cancer. It’s an affront to religious liberty, which is at the core of our nation’s founding. All Americans stand with the Jewish people in the fight against the world’s oldest bigotry—on this sad day and always.
