  1. To clarify: TSB has given a "monthly average number of employees" of about 8,198 in its annual report. However, this isn't a year-end figure so won't accurately reflect job cuts that have taken place so far...or exactly how many will get the TSB bonus award

  3. TSB CEO Debbie Crosbie earned £1.4m last year, including a £184k bonus and a £480k ‘joining award’. Her pay was pro-rata (due to joining in May) but TSB assures she will earn as ex-boss Paul Pester, who took home nearly £1.8m in 2017

  4. TSB execs bonuses were also revived in the form of the aptly named “New Award”, despite a cost cutting drive meant to save around £100m over 3yrs. Around 200 senior managers and execs will share £7.6m. Execs waived their bonuses last year due to the IT meltdown

  5. But it’s hard to know exactly how many staff will get a bonus because TSB won't reveal total headcount. That's despite revealing 400 job cuts and 86 branch closures in November. (We understand at least 100 jobs have gone from head office too, but TSB has not confirmed those)

  6. Few things to note from TSB's annual results: Bonuses are back and around 7,000 staff will share a pool worth £17.7m. Those who qualify will get a payout worth about 8.6% of their basic salary

  7. Also interesting: while the City was home to 233,890 businesses, most are quite small. Just 280 companies accounted for 50% of the City's jobs

  9. The latest City of London Corp stats show City jobs made up 10% of London's workforce in 2018. That's around 522,000 people...though only 36% were women
