I love making people laugh. Our show is a comedic love letter to America. About a weirdo (me) trying to rebuild his life while helping a group of immigrants navigate the USA. Our diverse, hilarious cast & writers are SO FUNNY. And they look like a cross-section of America. (2/9)

It's taken tv networks a long time to catch up & give audiences an opportunity to watch something like this, and I'm so proud and so thankful. Representation matters. Being funny matters. Getting to do all of that in one show is fun because bringing people together matters. (3/9)

We happen to be majority Immigrant/POC/LGBT, and are 100% proudly American. Most important we are funny! Our team can tap into stories that haven’t been told before, from American perspectives that are universally hilarious at the same time. It’s the best! (4/9)

The directive we gave our brilliant Casting Director Allison Jones (Curb Your Enthusiasm, The Office, Fresh Prince) was to bring us the funniest people. And she did! In some cases, that meant re-writing certain roles/ethnicities - so we could truly cast the best people. (5/9)

Most of our writers are immigrants or the children & families of. We had no trouble finding them, and they’ve worked on hilarious shows like Brooklyn 99, AP Bio, Unbreakable Kimmy Schmidt, and 30 Rock. (6/9)

Other recent comedies are also working hard to make us laugh while ensuring that fun is heightened for everyone, through humor and storytelling and representation. Modern Family, Bob Hearts Abishola, Perfect Harmony, Jane the Virgin. (7/9)
