Kareem Abdul-Jabbar’s Tweets

Most people will remember Kobe as the magnificent athlete who inspired a whole generation of basketball players. But I will always remember him as a man who was much more than an athlete.

Barbara Walters never flinched when questioning the world’s most powerful people. She held them accountable. She cared about the truth and she made us care too. Fortunately, she inspired many other journalists to be just as unrelenting. We are all better off because of her.

An NBA championship is never just won, it is earned through the pain of endless practice, inevitable losses, and unexpected injuries. Only the strongest prevail. Today a new Golden light shines over the NBA world. Congratulations, Champs. Well deserved.

Seeing my teammate enjoying the Dodgers victory brought me to tears & all the emotions of 1988 came flooding back when we were back to back champions in June & Oct of 88! ♥️ LA Does this mean that Magic is no longer a Detroit Tigers fan ? Lol !

Anthony Davis is the player that I mostly resemble but I never shot 3 pointers like he does.. However all other aspects of his game are similar to mine

Hey Earvin - I would have to agree as my college years were incredible but playing for The Lakers and having you as my teammate was a G.O.A.T friendship.

Kareem Abdul-Jabbar/Lew Alcindor is decisively the undisputed GOAT of college basketball! During his 3 years at UCLA he led the Bruins to an 88-2 record, won 3 National Championships, was 3X National College Player of the Year, AND was 3X NCAA Final Four Most Outstanding Player.

Celebrating MLK Day with a flashback photo in history. I was only 17 years old when this picture was taken. I was at a press conference where Dr. King was speaking. This photo represents inspiration to me to begin my writing career.

Let’s make sure our kids have the right kind of role models. Kyrie Irving should reconsider his behavior because young people look up to him.

On this day 39 years ago, I passed Wilt Chamberlain to set a new NBA scoring record. Two months ago, LeBron James passed my record. That’s exactly how it should be: athletes constantly pushing each other to prove there are no limits of human achievement. #Lakers #UtahJazz #NBA Show more

David Stern enabled the surge in the NBA’s worldwide popularity as much as any player on the court & sent the game around the world. He had a passion for the game, for the league, & for the players that we’ve all loved & enjoyed. He will be missed, but not forgotten

I’m going deep with my thoughts on what’s it like to be black in America
Quote Tweet
"It's a moment of clarity. That video of Mr. Floyd's murder, people now can see what it's like to be a black American. It was a very horrible crystallization of our experience." @kaj33 shares his thoughts on racial injustice and the protests across the country with @geeter3.

I met MLK when I was a high school journalism student. His courage, conviction & compassion changed my life. He made me realize that good people don’t sit by & allow injustice to exploit marginalized people. We are only as good as we treat the most vulnerable among us. #MLKDay

@kaj33 if you could have one player from today’s NBA be transported back in time to one of your teams - who would it be and what team would you add them to?

Today a reporter asked me a question about Lebron James and I regret my off-handed response which has been blown out of proportion. For years I’ve expressed my deep admiration and respect for LeBron as a community leader and athlete. That hasn’t changed and never will. -

Thanks for all the love you guys. Sitting in the big rocking chair the Lakers gave me when I retired in 1989 and now holding the NBA 75th anniversary ball is a special moment. So glad I have these two memories tied together. ❤️

The victory of Doug Jones in Alabama is the triumph of good sense, good values, and good people. It’s also the start of reclaiming America for all Americans.

Been there - done that & played at the highest levels. Today’s players never had to deal with the effects of commercial travel on their bodies. I’m all for players getting equal rights. Congrats Breanna for raising this issue.

I would love to be part of a deal that helps subsidize charter travel for the entire WNBA. I would contribute my NIL, posts + production hrs to ensure we all travel in a way that prioritizes player health + safety, which ultimately results in a better product. Who’s with me?

Don - we know your heart was in the right place. I think you were referencing women being in their prime during their “reproductive years”. Women are always in their “prime” because in my opinion, they get stronger, more courageous and more beautiful as they get older.
