A source close to Rosenstein disputes the Axios report that Deputy AG Rod Rosenstein has verbally resigned, @LauraAJarrett reports. The source says that Rosenstein expects he is being fired.

Wait, is the media in chaos or the WH? What are we to believe. Also, if Rosenstein said what he did as tongue and cheek, isn’t he opening himself up to being fired for insubordination? So if Trump fired him it would be for that, which kills the obstructing angle.
