Here is a confession - not only did I vote for Allison Collins in 2018, I even sent a check to her election campaign. A friend of a friend was fundraising for her and I contributed. I blame my lack of research on doing it and I deeply regret it. So why this confession? 1/6

Voting for her in 2018 and being 100% pro-recall now doesn’t probably make me your typical “right-wing extremist” they will try to portrait recall supporters in the coming weeks. 2/6

We all make mistakes. It’s what comes next, after admitting it, is important. SFans now have a chance to show to the rest of California and the nation that our population doesn’t just consist of deranged ideologues 3/6

Even with some significant delay, the city voters realize now that SF finds itself on the catastrophic self distracting path and we need to start bringing common sense politics in our government. 4/6

Both BOE and
@chesaboudin recalls if successful will become a reminder to everyone from@sfbos to the Police commissioner to the mayor that In a real democracy your post, your power is not given, not forever. 5/62 replies 6 retweets 130 likesShow this thread -
I was with you until you mentioned Boudin, who I support. These are different issues with different supporters and to conflate them undermines the case against Collins.

Agreed - different issues. Both recalls are driven by the desire to change things in the city for the better. I respect your right to support Chesa but I can't possibly understand why would you support him. And btw I'm pro-judicial reform and opposing mass incarceration.

I too support CJR but I just don't think anything he's done or not done merits recall, in stark contrast to Collins' & López' malfeasance and non-centering on students' needs (I'm also a SFUSD parent). Also, tbh your posts, "common sense" and "for the better" are vague.

For the better - California is the 5th largest economy in the world with the SF Bay Area being the main driver of this economy. Why do we allow the mentally ill and addicts to live on the streets? Why do we elect leaders who enable it.
