i wish you could just mute specific words from specific people. like JS people i know i would mute "functional". haskell people i know i would mute "haskell". etc

Not the same, as Haskell doesn't have the same notion of stack context. Composition is also better than monad transformers, although the feature does resemble algebraic effects minus the effect tracking, which we don't want (but could be added by languages that want it).

Really like how Nim has a built-in that breaks up a closure into a function and environment pointer. Makes it 100x easier to pass a Nim proc as a C callback compared to Haskell. Yes I know StaticPointer and StablePtr exist

We're on it! Now that Scala 3 is feature complete, we'll be putting in extra effort over the next few months. Additionally, a new developer will be joining our team to focus on the Scala 3 compiler integration specifically. More news later!

I think scala is finally reaching its "productivity plateau", having made peace with variance and pure functional programming (and error reporting). , , that optic lib... Really nice to see. Yeah, took a bit of time and epic blood feuds and community wars, but still

has no problem with recursive module imports, sorry but somebody had to say it.

I wrote a blog post about a new optics encoding which enables custom error reporting in Dotty. I am super excited because it offers flawless type inference thanks to Scala unique features like variance and union types.

If you decide to use final class in your library then at least hide its usage via trait so I can patch stuff in user space. Thanks.

Actors can be implemented precisely in any language. ZIO can be implemented precisely only in Scala. One of these is better for adoption of Scala.

A journey of a thousand miles begins with a single step. That single step has just happened. The Dotty-Quill POC has been hooked up to the transformations and can generate queries.

I respectfully disagree. scalajs-react started out with XML literals but ditched them pretty early on. Not only is it needlessly noisy, but it prevents extremely common programming techniques that we use all the time. It must be 5 years so now that I've been using scalajs-react…
