2) Boo’s House, Team Sonic Racing (2019) https://youtu.be/9eXgj0Le810 Is it cheating if the game this is from isn’t out yet? This Tee Lopes/Jun Senoue remix of S3K’s Sandopolis Zone is basically everything I love about Sonic music, classic and modern, in one place.
3) Lazy River, Donut County (2018) https://youtu.be/EFNoKBR25PY There’s so much I can say about Donut County, and I adore pretty much every track on its soundtrack equally, but this is one of those songs I feel like I could listen to on repeat for hours.
4) Home, UNDERTALE (2015) https://tobyfox.bandcamp.com/track/home-2 It’s hard for me to resist the urge to fill this thread with nothing but UNDERTALE music, but if I have to pick one song, it’s the one that makes me cry. I think it’s the only video game song that does that.
5) Field of Hopes and Dreams, DELTARUNE Chapter 1 (2018) https://tobyfox.bandcamp.com/track/field-of-hopes-and-dreams … It’s not *technically* UNDERTALE music, hehe. The fact that this game manages to create its own musical identity while still alluding to UNDERTALE constantly is really, really special to me.
6) Scattered and Lost, Celeste (2018) https://radicaldreamland.bandcamp.com/track/scattered-and-lost …
This track is an absolute banger.
If you like this track you’ll REALLY like @kuraine’s 2016 album, Singularityhttps://radicaldreamland.bandcamp.com/album/singularity …
7) Time Circuits, Chrono Trigger (1995) https://youtu.be/uzjvqzDaK0c I’ve literally never played Chrono Trigger. I just genuinely think this song, and this OST, represents mastery of the SNES soundfont. If you like 16-bit music, listen to this OST.
8) Magical Sound Shower, OutRun (1986) Try listening to this without humming along to it. I dare you.
9) Sophia, Gimmick! (1992) https://youtu.be/jDzXxdxWFl8 Speaking of mastering a soundchip, Masami Kageyama is the world’s best 8-bit composer. He will never be bested.
10) Drawing Game, Pictionary (1990) https://youtu.be/x8bVrwQxDXc Admittedly, Tim Follin is a close second. Out here doing basically impossible things with the default NES soundchip, for games that aren’t even that good.
11) Let’s Go Away [Dinosaur Canyon], DAYTONA USA (1993) https://youtu.be/2_zAxPqKa8Y Takenobu Mitsuyoshi you beautiful bastard DAYYYYTOOONAAAAAAAAA
gonna take a break from this for
, i’ll come back after the game!
