Much of the news is just bad stuff and anxiety causing. So I have some good news. Today my boyfriend proposed to me and I said yes! He is the love of my life, forever ❤️♾❤️

The American presidential primary process is the Rube Goldberg machine of democracy.

Saying “we should abandon chlorine entirely” is an ill-thought out response that is right up there with loons saying we should stop fluoridation.

This is fear mongering. Chlorinated by-products are a thing. But process changes are a major way of mitigating them (primarily, adding chlorine post-sedimentation reduces the numbers substantially).

If this challenge is successful, I propose that Edmontonians fundraise to pay for a full-time Imam to follow this guy around and to also preach. Even better if it’s in Arabic. Free expression right?

Watching the Iowa caucuses I am reminded of the fact that the American system of government is by far the most convoluted, confused, and archaic in the world. By far.

I've just googled how the caususes work ("voting" is done by what area of the room you're sitting in) and it is almost more than my socially anxious heart can handle... It's the real world stakes version of picking teams in gym

They should also combine Catholic and Public School boards. The money saved would be enormous.

I think they asked me to wear the helmet to be more familiar / recognizable to a mainstream audience. I wasn’t going to argue considering the level of talent they picked.

This cartoon from . This is one of my pet peeves, I hate the little appended title names and 15 versions of the same document.

    1. Alberta gov’t with strong rural base hires consultants to find health care cost savings & optimization. 2. Consultants say whole lot of rural hospitals don’t make sense. 3. Alberta gov’t to hospital board: do anything but that. 4. Repeat steps 1-3 in a decade or so.

right now Boris Johnson is praising free trade as something that has "raised billions out of poverty", warning that the protectionists are gaining ground - just hours after he pulled the UK out of *literally a huge free trade area*

Alberta's oil/gas liabilities continue to grow, and we need to get to the bottom of it. "One of the primary barriers to a clear understanding of the problem appears to be the absence of a credible & transparent assessment of cleanup costs."

I mean what does one do in Calgary (or Alberta at this point to be honest) if you don’t want to work in oil and gas? The Premier has basically said he doesn’t care about any other industry. Why would you stay?

Even industries that are run competently by governments in Scandinavia or Singapore will probably be bungled badly by the Bernie people. They are a group specialized in winning factional political battles and shouting down critics on social media, not in running industries.

I mean to be fair on this one, like most sane people I would also assume Kansas City is in Kansas because most countries didn’t have drunk cartographers designing their internal borders.
