Technology certifications are a scam and a cash cow for these companies: @LPIConnect @linuxfoundation @CompTIA @ISC2
There is no reason a certification test should cost $300, $400, $600. It's basically legalized extortion. The knowledge to create these exams is mostly free.

Hi
@kabarsedge, not all non-profits are alike. LPI makes no money from training and our primary mission is to grow open source by helping the people who work in it. Find our more at http://www.lpi.org1 reply 0 retweets 0 likes -

I'm glad you have an altruistic mission statement, but, the ridiculous cost of your certification exams is a blocker to folks who need them the most. I'm a Sys Engr with 20+ years exp, served in USMC, and graduated from USMC Comp Sci School. I don't need a cert. Entry level do.

However, I do appreciate you @LPIConnect for taking the time to respond. You're the only one of the 4 certification organizations I tagged that took the time to respond. Thank you for being in touch with your user base.
