In 2015 I chose to run for the @JustinTrudeau Liberals after the Harper Government announced that it would move the age of retirement up to 67. This would have had a significant impact on middle class Canadians and those working hard to join them.

For our government, talking about poverty is not something we do to score political points, it is about taking action. That is why we introduced the Poverty Reduction Strategy and the Poverty Reduction Act which the Harper/Scheer Conservatives voted against.
