Canada’s unemployment rate was 5.6% in December 2018, down from 7.1% in October 2015. This is its LOWEST historical point since comparable data became available in 1976.

Not only is the unemployment rate declining, most new jobs created in that same time frame were full-time jobs. And for people aged 15-64 (or the working-age population) the employment rate reached an all-time high of 74.2% in December 2018 (that’s up from 72.5% in October 2015).
