That’s absolutely what parents should be doing with that money. I feel like adding it into their budget is an awful idea as it eventually runs out and children shouldn’t become profitable. The moment you make them profitable you make them disposable. So good for you

How is the child tax benefit welfare?Back in the 1970’s it was called baby bonus but it was always there and it’s there for working families.I’m a single mom who has never received a penny in welfare in my life.I receive the CTB and because of it I can easily pay all the bills.

It really should be a ‘Family Tax Credit’ there are plenty of single families without children that could use a little more support. Just saying!

There are literally dozens of programs already available for those families .. just have to look them up.. go to service Canada building or call 1800 O'Canada ... has been there for decades
