    Many of our problems come from the way we treat each other, the planet and the life on it. Rather than from a lack of resources to exploit. If we carry those same ideas into space with us, maybe what we find and do there won’t magically solve all our problems.

    Dashers aren't stupid. They know that the difference between a profitable delivery and one where they earn less than they spend on gas is the size of the tip they get at the end of the job. 1/

    Turns out that despite “extensive discussions” by precisely nothing has changed to help UK musicians needing permit/visa-free EU touring. Shameful of to seek to mislead beleaguered UK musicians. Task for his dept is to sort the problem which remains unchanged.

    Trying to plan a weekend cycle trip. But it's turning out to be pretty much impossible. Campsites all have a 2 night minimum. Even the 'big empty field with access to toilet' kind. Now I remember why I walked the Cotswold Way early in the year.

    Wow! That was worth staying up for. Brilliant performances from all 4 of them. And basically called the race. Fast 1st swim, 2nd gets the gap, 3rd holds strong out on their own, 4th wins it on the run.

    What a team. What a performance. 🏊🚴🏃 They win the first ever Olympic mixed relay gold 🥇

    There's an 'oven ready' law requiring gov to "reduce the inequalities of outcome which result from socio-economic disadvantage". This gov could have easily brought it into force since election 18 months ago. One of clearest indications that 'levelling up' is an empty slogan.

Just as doctors have drummed into them “First, do no harm”, so the equivalent of the Hippocratic Oath for policymakers attempting to level up might be “First, do not aggravate inequality”. Yet the government has spawned policy after policy that does just that.
    Extract from Equality Act 2010: 1 Public sector duty regarding socio-economic inequalities (1) An authority to which this section applies must, when making decisions of a strategic nature about how to exercise its functions, have due regard to the desirability of exercising them in a way that is designed to reduce the inequalities of outcome which result from socio-economic disadvantage.
    We already have a law for this (pic 1 - quote from article). Section 1 of the Equality Act 2010 to create a socio-economic duty just hasn't been commenced in England yet.
