Lmao this article even says everyone expected it beyond the acquisition term, that landlords are being paid rent through term, and they are also closing stores that are now overlapping due to the 4 billion dollar acquisition. Did you even read it?

I know its hard to do critical thoughts as a vapid blockchain tech bro but come on “I think the 200 is fairly insignificant in the grand scheme of things,” said John Feeney

I'm simply making the point that store closures do occur for business reasons all the time.

And your original point about them closing it due to crime is hilarious and you should feel bad for finding an article saying they close stores for biz reasons instead!

I'll definitely read the article. Thanks for sharing. I left SF due to the conditions after living in SF and Oakland for a few years and the Bay Area for 10. I'm not sure if you have lived there as well but it feels lawless and unlivable in certain areas.

I believe SF spends around $50,000 per homeless person which should be more than enough to provide basic necessities. It's easy to scapegoat those paying the taxes but I'm not sure that doubling the budget will solve the problem

Not saying that you're arguing for that but typically the idea is that SF should just spend more as opposed to addressing the policies that are causing the problems in the first place

The people who write and push policy are for the most part already in the pocket of the people who want specific policy handled. Boudin has barely held the job and already has a massive push to oust him, in a coordinated effort. Policy will need more than a DA.

So perhaps we're talking past each other. I don't really care about Boudin or the efforts to oust him. Mostly I'm just arguing that petty theft could be a contributing factor to the closure of Walgreens' in the city.
