    Thread h/t . We must not allow these armed lockdown protests to be normalized- we must not allow armed intimidation of our communities and government leaders to succeed. That is the path to fascism.

    One more historical bit on violence today: several armed coups by partisan white supremacists in the late 1800s. Some in Louisiana in the 1870s, for example. All by white political minorities who refused to accept democracy. More from Henry Louis Gates:

    Reporters doing free work for Facebook is now the norm, but this bothers me more on a day when peers lost jobs because a crushed ad market means BF lost a few million bucks. Meanwhile FB pocketed $20m from a co that went on to run mask ad scams.
