The House just voted overwhelmingly to pass new federal hate crime legislation. Members of the @libertycaucus joined me to oppose this bill in accordance with the Constitution. http://clerk.house.gov/evs/2018/roll188.xml … #5thAmendment #10thAmendment #equalprotection #federalismhttps://twitter.com/libertycaucus/status/996813863055216640 …

Fairly liberal/civil libertarian civil rights lawyer here; totally agree with the House Liberty Caucus on this issue. No reason for the federal gov't to enact this type of legislation and infringe on state's rights to make their own criminal laws via unnecessary legislation

I admire the House Liberty Caucus. Sadly they demonstrate perfectly the impossibility of trying to fix the federal government..."The House just overwhelmingly voted"... #TEXIT, the sooner the better.http://thetnm.org

Just wait until Trump uses it to lock up people that use hate speech against him and then everyone will want their free speech back but it will be too late.

I’m sorry that more people don’t understand the constitution. I’m sad that they don’t read all the stuff in the bills and just react to headlines. Thanks for keeping it real Justin.

I hate the attempt to limit any non-violence inciting speech as much as I hate the Federal government creating more federal “crimes”. Does this count as hate speech?

Subjective laws serve only to punish the innocent. Thank you, @justinamash and @libertycaucus for so diligently continuing to vote in favor of our freedoms, especially when it means NOT voting for legislation that takes those freedoms from us! We The People need to toughen up!💖

If you truly support ‘liberty’ then when are you going to support legislation that takes the money out of our elections. Especially foreign money.

I can think of extremes on either side of this issue that I don't care for. Writing from Missouri, I want to thank you, Rep. Amash, and @libertycaucus for your persevering efforts to advocate a balanced approach to this issue.
