The Founders rebelled against ex post facto laws (laws criminalizing actions that were legal when committed). The Framers wrote a Constitution prohibiting Congress from passing ex post facto laws (Art. I, §9). This week, the House passed an ex post facto law 388-25 (#HR1865).https://twitter.com/justinamash/status/968621897087946752 …

The Constitution reads: “No Bill of Attainder or ex post facto Law shall be passed.” (Art. I, §9) Congress just passed this ex post facto law by a vote of 388-25. (I voted no, of course.) https://twitter.com/libertycaucus/status/968609254054793216 …

Fun fact, they hated it so much they mentioned it twice. In Art. I Sec. 9 and AGAIN in Art. 1 Sec. 10.

The Ex Post Facto clause in Sec. 9 prohibits such laws at the Federal level. When it's mentioned again (Sec. 10) Ex Post Facto laws are prohibited at the state level. Basically, this means Ex Post Facto laws are bad. They're bad at any level of government.

Sexworkers are completely against it. #Sexwork is not #trafficking. If we are not able to advertise online we will be forced back to the street.

This is absolutely unconstitutional. Everyone hates sex traffickers, but there are better ways of dealing with it than ending free speech online.

The lack of knowledge and appreciation for the Wisdom of the Founders is appalling and accelerating at an alarming rate. The Constitutional Amendments I might support, is the requirement for all members of Congress to have a A- or better passing grade in #Civics!

When this inevitably and sadly passes. Any chance to get the Supreme Court to render it unconstitutional on those grounds?

Those in favor of state intervention were hysterically shouting their imaginary parade of horribles they assured us would result from the end of #NetNeutrality but barely a peep about #HR1865 which presents a clear and present danger to freedom of expression and internet freedom.
