If your vote aligns with something, it's irrelevant that you disagree with it in theory. A fiscal conservative who votes for a budget-exploding bill helps no one. And If you give your party's president free reign out of party loyalty, your positions and principles mean nothing.

I'll always agree with country over party. But when you introduce legislation to balance a budget, and then vote for a budget breaking bill like the tax bill, it makes no sense. Same goes if you vote against aid due to costs, but vote for the tax bill. It's illogical in my mind
