From what I understand, you are actually a Tea Party Republican, not an Independent. I looked at your voting record, and you do not vote party line. That's good. But, it seems you vote nay on even good ideas like Disaster Relief in Sept, so don't know what to make of you.

I’m a libertarian Republican, a constitutional conservative, a classical liberal, an independent, and a moderate.
-
Not trying to attack you, honestly. Originally from MI, now in FL, so not a constituent. Your answer comes across like you're not for or against anything, and you try to fit all molds. You vote for the tax cut (huge deficit), and against relief. If I were a voter, I'd be hesitant
-
My principles and positions do not align neatly with either party, and I’m open about what I stand for. Those are virtues, not vices.
-
If your vote aligns with something, it's irrelevant that you disagree with it in theory. A fiscal conservative who votes for a budget-exploding bill helps no one. And If you give your party's president free reign out of party loyalty, your positions and principles mean nothing.
