Section 702 of FISA allows the government to conduct warrantless searches on Americans and maintain massive troves of our data—but it is about to expire. Congress now has 15 days to decide whether to protect the #4thAmendment or let the government continue to eviscerate it.

        Reauthorizing #FISA702 while protecting Americans’ Fourth Amendment rights is easy—pass the @RonWyden @RandPaul @RepZoeLofgren @JudgeTedPoe #USARIGHTSAct (#S1997/#HR4124).

#USARIGHTSAct: ✅ substantially and permanently limits the collection of Americans’ data ✅ requires a warrant to search for Americans’ communications in the government’s massive stores of #FISA702 data & ✅ limits the use of warrantlessly collected data to prosecute Americans.

Other House bills, like the #USALibertyAct, would reauthorize all the government’s #FISA702 spying while doing little to protect our rights, and the #FISAAmendmentsReauthorizationAct would actually expand the government’s authority to conduct warrantless surveillance!

With the expiration of #FISA702, Congress has the opportunity to reverse the government’s illegal erosion of our #4thAmendment-secured right to be free from warrantless searches and seizures. There’s only one bill circulating in the House that does that: the #USARIGHTSAct.

This is Justin Amash doing whack a doodle amateur hour. Justin agonizes over internal surveillance while doing NOTHING about the Russian Pearl Harbor that was the attack on our country in 2016 and continues today. We need a serious, common sense Rep for MI-03. #VoteThemOut

Whoever runs this account is not a serious person. Amash introduced a substitute amendment to FISA that has been introduced as a standalone bill in the House and Senate by Democrats.

We need mechanism to gather intel for counter-terrorism, but this broad power is overkill & wrongly used against American's without ANY accountability to those who abuse it.. As both parties have had opportunity to pursue that Accountability and have not- It needs to Expire. IMHO

There are no terrorists. If the TSA had ever caught a single one, they would have bragged about it. Same for the NSA, the FBI, and every other TLA out there.

Thank you @justinamash for standing up for #Liberty. The only way to obtain that is the elimination of every #goonerment and their #goonsquad. A peaceful transition would be preferred of course but they don't seem to want to give up their ill begotten power...pic.twitter.com/kLljADXRSs

Congress is supposed to be restricted by the 18 Enumerated Powers of the Constitution, and if they need be reminded of that, it's time to get men and women in there who respect the Constitution and are willing to adhere to it. Enough of these tyrants.pic.twitter.com/4Ew8de7awy
