Section 702 of FISA is used to conduct warrantless searches on Americans in contravention of the #4thAmendment. Some Republicans and Democrats are working to expand and extend this violation of our rights. We must stop them.

Mr. Amash, is there any legal recourse for this? Can anyone be tried for treason? If you propose, vote for, or enforce FISA can you be held for treason? Does the FBI have authority to make arrests?

Yes, treason. If you propose legislation, vote for legislation, or enforce laws that are in violation of the Constitution, and people's rights especially, you should be held accountable. Send a few people to jail to make an example.

☝️ Your personal definition of Treason above violates the Constitution. 😒

So let me get this straight: We fought a war to regain the freedoms we later codified in the Bill of Rights, and people who try to weaken our Constitution are someone not committing treason? What would you call that and what punishment would you approve of?

Go read Article III, Section 3 of the Constitution. You can't defend the Constitution by ignoring what the Constitution actually says.

I completely agree with you. The question you need to answer is: Does violating my rights, intentionally, constitute an act of War against my person? If we fought wars over this, is it not equivalent to warfare when it’s done by a Congressman on the floor of the House/Senate?

Now you're twisting the text of the Constitution to suit your purposes. Treason carries the penalty of death. Art III, Sec 3 says what Treason is, and it specifically says it's "only" that. 1/
