Rights are suspended when detained.

One’s right to bear arms isn’t suspended simply by virtue of being detained. Furthermore, one’s right to life isn’t either.
-
Uh, yes it most definitely is. Terry frisks for weapons occur all the time and those are during detentions
-
No it absolutely is not. Habeas corpus and due process. Your constitutional rights remain in force unless found guilty of a felony.
-
What a completely ridiculous statement. Why doesn't anybody just drive away when a cop pulls them over the?
-
The Constitution does not prevent temporary detention. Don't conflate the two.
-
Right to bear arms certainly suspended during an investigatory detention.
-
If his gun had been taken and not returned, then yes. And he'd still be alive.

And the killer Cop got away with it This is an outrage Unfortunately this is going on all over the country We cannot standby & allow this
-
Poor training caused this, LEO probably didn't have intent 2 shoot. Knowing he's armed the LEO should have had him get out with hands up.
-
He shot him seven times. I don't know how you can say he didn't have the intent to shoot him
-
Darrick's argument about poor training is no excuse Nothing can justify this abomination We can't continue to ignore police brutality
-
Sometimes it helps 2 put yourself in others shoes. Can't you see how the leo might have thought he was going 4 his gun?
-
Sure. But when you're wrong you should pay. His statement said he never saw the gun. That's a slow draw for Philando, huh?

Ridiculous. The average legal gun owner knows not to reach for ANYTHING if a cop says don't reach for something. Jury was correct.
-
I'm able 2 understand how LE thought he might be reaching for a gun but also see how its wrong 2 shoot anyone be4 they actually see weapon
-
Testimony by other cops said "once u see the gun it's too late". Sad case but had been settled in LAWFUL court. Congressman is a slime.
-
If that's true then why doesn't he still have his job? How come he faced a jury in the 1st place? Poor tactics, get him out of vehicle
-
Agree...poor tactics. And it is scary being stopped when carrying. I'd rather step out, myself. But no manslaughter conviction here.
