@poorpeeps I can't stop bad decisions by grand juries and courts. We need better training with emphasis on peacefully managing situations.

@justinamash or different laws that don't provide police with so much discretion in discharging their weapon?

@poorpeeps Police should not be given more leniency when it comes to self-defense than any other person.

@justinamash @poorpeeps this has to be the worst response I have ever heard from an elected official. You should be ASHAMED of yourself!

@justinamash Rule of Law? What about the rule of law for those who a gun was brandished at in that Cleveland Park?

@justinamash that's fair. However, "not be given more leniency"; is this in all cases or just this one? You are painting a broad brush.

@TBerriman57 There should not be a double standard for self-defense. If anything, police should be more reluctant to use deadly force.

@justinamash in a perfect world, yes. But it's not. The ambushing and entrapment of LEOs has directly contributed to these incidents.

@TBerriman57 This is about our Constitution (2nd, 4th & 5th Amendments). You sign up to protect public; unfortunately, that involves risks.

@justinamash and when you wave guns around in public or attack a police officer, that too involved risks.

@TBerriman57 I agree, but the Constitution protects individuals who behave badly just as it protects the good and innocent.

@TBerriman57 If you don't like our Constitution, you can try to amend it or move to another country where rights are arbitrarily protected.

@TBerriman57 There's a third choice: You can accept that the Constitution protects rights, which makes policing more challenging in the U.S.

@justinamash what also makes policing challenging is that individuals do not respect the basic rights of others. Like assaulting LEOs.
