I'm hopeful we can make minor changes to the debt ceiling portion of the CR. That would allow me & other concerned colleagues to vote yes.

No. That's why I'm asking for this change. “@ThatsEgregious: @repjustinamash You would vote yes to raise the debt ceiling?”

@repjustinamash what changes are you hoping for? You guys in Congress already spent the money, sir. You have an obligation to raise ceiling

@repjustinamash @ThatsEgregious Point of interest. A debt ceiling default would be as cataclysmic as the Bank failures of 2008/

@jhf5 @repjustinamash Keeping the debt ceiling where it is does not create default. It means govt has to prioritize spending.

@jhf5 @repjustinamash That's good motivation to avoid dependence on govt: Govt spending is subject to politics

@ThatsEgregious @repjustinamash Of course, and those who practice bad politics will pay for it, as it should be.

@repjustinamash @ThatsEgregious The debt ceiling is about debt that was ALREADY incurred by Congress. We cannot default on it. #reckless

@ThatsEgregious @repjustinamash The treasury pays out as bills come in. There is no "prioritization" permitted absent congressional action
