The Afghanistan war began 17 years ago. That means that some young Americans will now be enlisting to fight in a war that began before they were born. The 2001 congressional authorization has little connection to the current mission, whatever that may be. End this war.

The war for women’s rights has been going on far longer than Afghanistan. You believe the government has the right to control a woman’s body & you should not be in Congress.

It should've ended many years ago. So, since you brought it up (& I'm glad someone in DC is at least willing to admit we're still in #Afghanistan), what's it going to take to end it? Tweets won't do it. Vietnam War-style protests might, but public apathy precludes that. #AntiWar

So, why the public apathy? One major reason is the #Afghanistan war is not in our homes & living rooms as during Vietnam. The 3 major TV networks reported live & kept us up to date. Today we have many more news outlets, yet far less live war coverage & even less war discussion.

Nah. War’s still going because there isn’t a draft anymore. Nobody’s afraid of being dragged off to war against his will. Executive wars can only be ended by an executive dedicated to ending undeclared executive wars. We need a #WarParty. It has only one item on the platform.

You do realize that Amash is one of the few reps who vote against renewing the war? Both R’s and D’s vote for it; if the whole democratic senate had voted against authorization bills for military force then they wouldn’t pass but that didn’t happen. You’re an idiot.
