As one of only 11 Rs in the House to receive > 25% on the @ACLU report card and the only one over 40% (you got 54%), couldn't you be doing more good as a conservative Democrat than a liberal Republican? There are Dems with lower scores than yours.

Libertarians need to focus on how to talk to nonlibertarians and not come across as heartless or crazy. We need to ignore those who just care about a party label (d,r,or l). JA is fighting the good fight, but he needs more support from the electorate at large.
-
Yeah, most libertarians scare me off with their rhetoric. Amash is the only one I've seen that comes across as reasonable and sincere. Even when I disagree, it seems like he's coming from an honest place.

check out Larry Sharpe. he's running got governor in NY.

Thank you for saying what should be obvious to all, Congressman Amash. It's time for the U.S. to end its complicity in the world's worst humanitarian catastrophe.
-
This is the kind of bipartisanship I can get behind!

Thank you for your persistent opposition to US support for Saudi Arabia’s atrocities in Yemen.

I agree with you 100% and I respect you for all the work that you've done. But I think it's time that we grow some stones and also hold the same standard to Israel who has committed as many if not more atrocities. Not to mention their influence in our politics and foreign policy

But is all about the military industrial complex... NO person in a government position should be allowed to own stocks in these satanic monstrosities sucking the very LIFE out of our planet...

There is a war in Yemen because Iran is attempting to encircle Saudi Arabia with hostile states. We should continue every effort to defeat Iran and the Houthis.
-
Iran hates us because we overthrew their democratically elected leader in order to install a dictator. And now we're backing another repressive regime... why? Israel, perhaps, but it's not like they're squeaky clean either.
-
I think we should really stop mucking around in so many other countries' problems and attend to our own.
-
I don't mean to offend, but it all stems from the illusion/belief that America is or should be ruling the world
-
Or it's just greed for money and power as I think was case for Iran
-
There are multiple reasons, though a lot of it has to do with this idea we must play world police to avoid WWIII. And the militarization required to police the entire world has left our government in the hands of the military-industrial complex and its lobbyists.

Well said and thank you! This war on Yemen is utterly despicable. We also need to speak up for the rights of Palestinians as well and hold Israel to account.
