So congressman , what are going to about the ones who weren’t so fortunate like your grandmother and were left behind and now are BANNED from America?!? Any word ? Anything ? Or should I just step outside and listen to crickets ?!??

Amash opposed the immigration ban/legislation and has been openly critical of the President's immigration policies. I can't believe someone would 1) post this in response to someone dying, and 2) do so w/o checking to see if the accusation was valid. Disgusting and ignorant. SMH

first of all stop the name calling! Have some class!2nd anyone can talk or criticize this administration n their cruel policies but when there’s no action ,what good all that talk does? NONE! If he REALLY is opposing this guy,he would something about it!

Rebuking your inaccurate, tangential, political allegations on a post about someone's relative dying, is not name calling. What you did was disgusting, and exposed ignorance - a lack of awareness/knowledge that he opposed the exact issue you mentioned:https://www.mlive.com/news/grand-rapids/index.ssf/2017/01/rep_justin_amash_trumps_unlawf.html …

Regarding your misguided assertion that "He's not doing anything!", he did: voted against legislation and spoke out - which is all he has power to do as 1 House of Rep. member. If you're aware of other magical powers he possesses that he's choosing not to use, please let us know

My Syrian-Orthodox relatives immigrated to the US one month ago and are just beginning to settle into their new lives.

My deepest sympathies to you and your family Congressman. I hope that your fellow Republicans appreciate, sincerely, not only from where you came, but where all of our fellow citizens come from. May we all be strengthened by their journeys and their embracing our ideals.

My great-uncle and my great-aunt were also from Syria. (I'm 52) Wonderful, smart (and wise) hard-working man and woman - great family people. They've been gone a long time now but their legacy lives on. I'm sorry for your loss, Justin, but glad you had her blessing in your life.
