Many of the allegations against @POTUS are serious and should be taken seriously, especially by members of Congress.

I hope that we don’t get to this point, but I think it’s important, given recent news, that members of Congress share their thoughts on this matter with the people they represent.

Thank you Justin. I would discourage the use of the phrase “overturn the election”. Hillary, nor any other Democrat would become president upon a conviction

You just hit the nail on the head. The goal never was to find collusion, or even to punish someone for a crime— The goal all along has been to overturn the results of a legal and fair election. The will of the people be damned.

This would *not* lead to “overturning the election.”

Hypothetically: What about if he colluded with a foreign adversary to win said election? And also committed flagrant campaign finance violations to influence said election?

They just spent millions investigating & said Russian hack did not affect the election. Rosenstein read the report on TV

I was with you until the “high standard” point. Preponderance of the evidence should be good enough to force someone out of any office. Higher standard is reserved for criminal trials.

I agree the best tonic for Americans might be to vote him or ourselves and right our own wrong but I have a couple doubts about the legitimacy of this election and do not believe a president under active investigation should get a SCOTUS pick.

The only problem I see with this thread from you, for whom I have great respect, is that over the last 2 years the other
@GOP Senators have shown that they don't have 1 scintilla of your morals. I don't trust any of them to put country over party.Thanks. Twitter will use this to make your timeline better. UndoUndo

An impeachment is not "overturning the results of an election".
-
It may be attempted to be used that way, but we clearly have an unfit individual in office right now. If you don't support impeachment, you don't support the country.

If the president is impeached, who becomes the president? A: The other candidate on the ticket that won the same number of electoral votes. Don’t see how it’s overturning an election. Possibly could argue for other offices where succession is different but not the presidency
-
The Vice President becomes the President.

Trump's admitted to campaign-related felonies...this very week. He'll be facing dozens of charges by Christmas.

Impeachment is not about "overturning the results of an election." Impeachment is about removing an office-holder who has disqualified himself by breaking the law.

But what if the "high crime and misdemeanor" changed the outcome of said election? Serious Question - I would be curious your take. Can a President be held criminally liable for rigging an election that made him President?
