The first Muslim Congresswoman and the first Palestinian-American Congresswoman: the eldest of 14 children of a mother who immigrated to the US from the West Bank and a father who worked on a Ford assembly line. With respect to Rep. Amash, I believe the correct answer is John E. Sununu, elected to the Senate in 2002.
-
I believe Sununu’s father was actually the first. He was elected in the late 70s.

If I'm not mistaken, John H. Sununu was a New Hampshire state legislator, the state's governor, then White House chief of staff, but never in Congress. https://classic.nga.org/cms/home/governors/past-governors-bios/page_new_hampshire/col2-content/main-content-list/title_sununu_john.default.html …

Worst of all is I'm afraid of even asking you this question Mr Amash because you could be labeled an anti semite for giving the wrong answer. "To learn who rules over you, simply find out who you are not allowed to criticize"

Is it time to finally end our aid to Israel considering their war crimes and not acknowledging their nuclear weapons program? Can we also stop being scared to call out Israel on their immoral behavior without being called an anti semite? Umm big fan Amash, God bless.
