It’s not theft until the reps and senators stop tweeting about stuff and pass a law or two. Until then, it’s “civil asset forfeiture”.

Civil asset forfeiture is unconstitutional. But more importantly, a law doesn't make something other than what it is. Slavery being legal didn't make it moral and government theft being legal doesn't make it any less what it is: theft.

I want to end all government and if I had enough people I wouldn’t sign a petition we would just all stop paying taxes and stop listening to laws and make it very clear that should any government agent stop foot on our property they will die but we don’t have enough people yet

Nope. We call this asset forfeiture: proceeds derived from illegal activity. Law abiding folks have no problem proving their $$$ comes from legal means - job, pension, investments, etc. Bookies, drug dealers, gangsta can’t

That's simply not true. Law abiding often finding it more costly to to fight the charges in court than the amount of money that was stolen from them by the police. It's just theft. You can inform yourself a little better about it here:https://reason.com/archives/2017/04/05/the-other-side-of-legalized-theft …

Rion, I’m lil’informed. The usual cases cited, by those against this particular law, are aberration. Reg folk do not stuff 11k in cash in suitcase, etc. The law does NOT impact righteous business ppl or law abiding citizen. It can impact those that cannot show proof of income

It's a bad practice to take people's property with no due process, Al. It's policing for profit, and innocent people absolutely routinely end up getting shafted. Case in point this example in the original tweet.

There is a due process. A person gets arrested on suspicion - the money gets arrested on suspicion. The intent & execution of the law not focusing on U, teachers, small business owner, etc. Words like “for profit” ??? no law enforcement individual benefits from it.
