It’s another good idea without a constitutional basis. I swear an oath to support and defend the Constitution, and I take that oath seriously. Constitutional limits are meaningless if we ignore them whenever we like the policy outcome.https://twitter.com/pkcapitol/status/1021534179190812672 …

I appreciate you responding and your POV here is necessary. But, is the Constitution a living document or not? I get that it grants limited powers to the state, the Army & Navy, e.g., but not an Air Force. Is the Air Force constitutional?
-
Article V provides for the amendment process. Many people today believe the Constitution is “living” and seek to “amend” the Constitution outside of this process. I clearly do not subscribe to that. The Air Force was founded as part of the Army.
-
OK, what about the Space Force?
-
I’ll let you know when I see the legislation!

-
It's idiocy. One thing comes to mind, NASA.
-
opposition at all costs helps no one but your blue banner. creating a new wing, or a mostly autonomous one like the marines, of the military would allow space exploration sciences to dip into massive military funds. it's logical to move military power to space for the future.
-
Or simply move those funds to NASA....
-
expanding the military is a much easier goal to achieve, politically speaking

What does Constitution say about executive power? Co-equal branches of government? Emoluments? Attacks on free press? Please reflect on your oath, Justin. Founding fathers didn't foresee legislative branch failing like this. They saw Trump coming but they thought YOU would ACT.pic.twitter.com/IBZRLQWooQ

It doesn’t say it’s written exactly like in Britain so do you want or do you wish you remember thispic.twitter.com/u3VqEN3Da2

Welfare, in this context, does not mean what you think it means....
-
Then you'll have to teach me what I think it means first, because I won't answer to an accusation too cowardly to explain itself clearly.
-
Madison himself the words general welfare essentially meant nothing. It certainly doesn’t mean welfare state, universal health care, or any other entitlement.

Your primary authority is of the purse. You absolutely have a constitutional basis for funding things. Your job is to decide what's a sensible use of our resources. It sounds like basically all your colleagues, and probably most of your constituents, think this would have been.

On that note one of the enumerated powers is for the House to initiate the articles of impeachment when the president breaks laws, are you going to utilize that power at least?
-
Of course not. He only cares about himself
