The impression it left on me, a strong supporter of the meeting, is that “something is not right here.” The president went out of his way to appear subordinate. He spoke more like the head of a vassal state.

We libertarians need to be smarter and more effective in our approach. Acting like partisans—pushing demagoguery and tribalism—is a self-defeating proposition. Stand strong on your principles; you’ll find most Americans standing with you.

I think you are being way to harsh and judging optics and not the goal of trying to increase dialogue. You are very principled; however, I think you might be letting your feelings towards Trump cause you to criticize him a bit much. I never saw you nearly this harsh on Obama.

The president sided with a strong man dictator over our own IC, that's not optics, that's subservience

On this point you are losing me... Diplomacy with Putin, during his ongoing electoral and political interference? He seems like the enemy of freedom and libertarian ideals.

We need to see Trump's TAX RETURNS. Will you fight for that, Toady Boy?https://www.msnbc.com/brian-williams/watch/report-russian-mob-money-helped-build-trump-business-empire-1002228291948 …

The sanctions against Putin are working. And Russia should be condemned for interfering in our elections. You and Rand Paul should get a room. Sucking up to Putin is not dialogue; it's madness.

Russia may have released Hillarys emails to Wikileaks that proved she rigged the primary against Bernie. Who cares? Plus we’ve been meddling in elections for longer than either of us has been alive

There must be consequences for cyberattacks. Targeted sanctions are tools we have to avoid what nobody wants, a kinetic war. One more thing, the Russian press were saying Trump looked like a total Russian asset in Helsinki. Even they recognize what an embarrassment he is.

And THIS is why people conflate libertarianism with Trumpism. Your philosophies may be different, but all too often your POLICIES sound exactly the same.

Yes BUT. Since both parties refuse to investigate widespread political graft & corruption in US political system, you don't get to play this as your Trump card. Right now, if I had to choose between who/what to prosecute, I would pick the US political graft & corruption system.

Why would we want dialogue with a nation who overtly attacked our primary liberty... The right to vote. This position makes your whole stance is a sham. Shame on you, you phony!

Sanctions are not ineffectual. Sanction the oligarchs personal assets. That is why Putin hates Magnitsky act

Once Again, the only reason for this Anti-Russian narrative of Dems & the Left Wing Media, is that they feel they needed to make up an excuse for losing the 2016 election. Until that point, the Left (w/ Obama & Clinton) was in Russia's pocket.

Yes we need more diplomacy with the same country that infiltrated our election. How can we make money with Russia if sanction bills & condemnation get in the way?
