Justin, I'm not a Kavanaugh cheerleader, but couldn't we libertarians find something to object to in pretty much every potential nominee? Overall is this guy worse than the others for you? Hard for me to get there.

Justin Amash is one of the few members of Congress who votes his conscious. Good for him.
-
And some vote unconscious?
-
Conscience* haha, thanks for correcting me.

Far too many Trump supporters sacrifice liberty for a false sense of security. Just like Bush supporters. Just like Hillary supporters.

If only you could walk the fine line that Rand Paul does. While he can disagree with the president, he doesn't often make himself look like a mouthpiece for the Dems as you do. Respect you, but you need to work on that.
-
@justinamash comes across as non-partisan, grounded by his principles rather than affiliation. Shouldn't all representatives aim for that? -
That is one legitimate impression. I don't necessarily disagree with you, just pointing out the difference in delivery. It is why Rand Paul is the superior politician and will actually get more chances to advance liberty than Amash.

Who will have Trump's ear on the next SC pick, and who will most definitely not? RP wakes every morning wondering what he can do to advance liberty. Others are more interested in their perception. That is the difference between "libertarians" and true lovers of liberty.

Thanks for speaking out about these 4th Amendment concerns that I share (& will discuss with my con law students this summer). The one sliver of hope that I feel re SCOTUS & privacy is that Roberts was in the majority on Carpenter v. US, but Kavanaugh’s record is def distressing.
